Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park (CA State Park) Located in Weaverville, the Temple of the Forest Beneath the Clouds, built in 1874, is the oldest continuously used Chinese temple in California and offers a fascinating look into the role of Chinese immigrants in early California history.
Lee Fong Park Situated just off of Main Street in Weaverville, Lee Fong Park offers clean walking paths, covered picnic and BBQ areas, an 18-hole disc golf course, and an amphitheater. Along with the physical attractions, Lee Fong Park also offers scenic amenities like Sydney Gulch Creek, heirloom apple and pear trees as well as gorgeous views of the Trinity Alps.
Highland Art Center This lovely old home and garden has been repurposed from originally being a boarding house, and now houses several generous rooms of artwork, mostly by local or regional artists. The grounds are lovely, a small gift shop and some outlying artist-in-residence studios round out the experience.

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area (between Redding & Weaverville on Hwy 299) Entrance pass required. The Visitor Center is located at the intersection of Kennedy Memorial Drive and Highway 299. Summer is peak season at Whiskeytown, and the lake becomes the center of activity. Visitors flock to the park for swimming, fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, beach fun, sailing, water skiing, scuba diving, and motorboating. For hikers, shady creekside trails and waterfalls offer a refreshing escape from the heat. Be prepared for warm weather, and take advantage of the many ways to cool off in the lake.
